STACKS represents a body of work that explores the imagery of people on each others shoulders. Like "totems poles", stacked people create significance and meaning as well. With two stacked people we think of family, brotherhood or friendships, yet with three or more people in a stack, there are more interpretations: like evolution; cycles; cooperation; and "levels of enlightenment", etc.
One interesting note, you will see ink drawing studies of a double self portrait that I began painting. At some point the painting changed into me holding my son on my shoulders. I plan to finish the double self portrait painting one day. This presentation also includes ink drawings for a public sculptural project; and color studies for paintings.
I am interested in your interpretations of a stack of people
